You hover over the table with your smartphone, trying to catch the document in the frame straight... and you see a huge shadow from your hand and phone right in the middle of the text.
You try to step back — the shadow disappears, but the document turns into a trapezoid. The text at the edges becomes small and unreadable.
This used to be a problem.

Perspective Correction
The main secret of a quality shot is simple: don't try to hold your phone perfectly straight.
When you use the phonescan.me service, these issues are already taken into account. The algorithm sees a sheet of paper not as a picture, but as a geometric object.
You take a shot from a convenient angle.
A frame with 4 points appears on the screen.
You drag these points exactly to the corners of your paper sheet.
As soon as you press "Done", the algorithm will "stretch" the selected area. It will turn a curved trapezoid into a perfectly straight rectangle, as if you scanned it strictly from above.
Life hack against glare: If you're scanning a glossy magazine or laminated ID, shooting at an angle is the only way out. If you shoot straight — the flash or lamp will reflect in the center of the frame as a white spot. Take a step to the side and shoot the document at a 30-40 degree angle. The glare will disappear, and the service will correct the geometry itself.
How It Works in Practice
You don't need to make extra effort. Here's how to make a scan in 10 seconds:
- Place the document. Preferably on a surface that differs in color (a white sheet on a white table is harder to find, but our algorithm handles this too).
- Find the light. Stand so that your shadow doesn't fall on the text. Usually this means — shoot slightly from the side.
- Take the shot. The main condition — all 4 corners of the document must be in the camera frame.
- Send the file.
After taking the shot, you'll see a grid on the screen. If the automation missed (for example, a corner of the sheet is bent), you can adjust the corner of the grid with your finger. Press "Done", and the curved trapezoid will instantly turn into a straight document.
You don't need to be a sniper or a professional photographer to do everything right. The algorithms forgive "crooked hands" and bad lighting. The main thing is that the document is in the frame, the service will do the rest for you.
